Timmy Grins:

Starting as the frontman for touring Hip Hop crew Arcane in the early 2000’s Timmy Grins has recognized and acted on emerging trends in the business of music and entertainment.

His first project, “The Elements Party” was developed in response to a need for venues that allowed quality Hip Hop performances in Baltimore.  The result was a movement creating, award winning monthly event, that is now a staple in the Baltimore Hip Hop community both offline and online.

His next project was, “The Code of the Cutz” or the Hip Hop area of the Vans Warped Tour.  Partnering with DJ Adverse, Timmy was responsible for aligning businesses seeking the audience to whom the stage catered.  He developed and implemented, marketing plans for clients like: Kangol, Stanton, iRiver, and Urb Magazine.

Following the Warped Tour experiences, Timmy worked with Jonathan “Trenz” Winbush the award winning motion graphics artist to create “The Breakdown”, the world’s first online hip hop video show.   Rising simultaneously with YouTube, “The Breakdown” at its height was regularly viewed several million times a month.  The show ran for 4 full seasons, compiling over 48 episodes, the most renowned being the Method Man blasting Wendy Williams episode, which was ultimately featured in publications like the NY Post and Vibe Magazine, along with just about every single internet news outlet.

At the heels of “The Breakdown” Timmy became immersed in neighborhood redevelopment.  Using Hip Hop as a tool for communication and resurrecting the neighborhood’s historical musical significance Timmy created the “ILiveOnClayStreet” movement.  Starting with a blog, it has spawned to street corner supper clubs, parties, community associations, non-profits, panel discussions on race, and an overall reclaiming of the once violence plagued neighborhood of Clay Street, in Annapolis, Maryland.

Simultaneous to the community work on Clay Street, Timmy partnered with Tree City LLC to create “The 3rd Rail” a grassroots snowboard competition blended with live hip hop music and art.  The inaugural event held in January of 2008 drew nearly 4000 people and is now being planned for several resorts in the Winter of 2009.

Expanding to retail, Timmy partnered with long time rhyming associate “JB the Judge” to create “NY’s Finest Ice Cream and Italian Ice” a hip hop ice cream shop, that now has 2 locations in the Northeastern US.  For the last 3 years the store has achieved a 200% rate of growth.
